Humber Connected: Toronto FC
(Originally broadcast February 28th 2012)
Today's House Blogger was Chris
It was a bright, sunny day at Humber North when all the students gathered into the studio to learn about the upcoming news about the Toronto FC. Griff was the producer of the show and a passionate fan of the FC and put his faith into the crew to deliver what he had to say.
During the rehearsal, Griff was all fired up and wanted everything to go smoothly. Pasquale started to lay down the law on the floor but there were a few mix-ups during rehearsal with a few positions while everyone was trying to figure out exactly what to do. Dino from the Radio Broadcast program came in to fill the void left by an ill host. Michael was trying to work out what shots he needed to get to on the switcher while the script was being typed up prior to show by Micahi. The camerawork by Christian, Paul, and Kirsten seemed pretty solid and the colours set by Aaron on the shader looked good. It was looking promising with Michelle and Jeremy in the Assistant Director and Director seats respectively. Rakesh took care of the audio and Huey was looking over the graphics working on trying to get the computer back working after a technical issue. Cassandra was in VTR and played all the videos in the right spots. All the issues seemed to be ironed out during the rehearsal until there was a mixup with the script.
After the mixup, Griff ran into the studio to make sure everyone knew what was happening and made some small changes to the script to make it as crisp as possible. Right after the meeting, Pasquale started putting out threats to this simple blogger while the technical issues were still trying to be resolved on the graphic station. People were trying to relax Griff as he was running around trying to make sure the product he wanted to put out was the one that he envisioned. The problem on the graphics computer appeared to be fixed, but just in case CHRIS WAS A GRAPHIC PROBLEM SOLVER AND DECIDED TO USE A PAPER CREDIT LIST JUST LIKE THE GOOD OL' DAYS. And then it was game time... 30 seconds of bars and tone... 10 seconds of black... 10 seconds of slate... 10 seconds of black... ACTION!
The intro was rolling with a smooth bumper shot, then to a nice shot of the handsome Matt Hagerman. Everything running smoothly at the moment, the rehearsal seemed to work. Oh no! There was a mix up with the Final Cut Pro video and Dino was in front of the video. After that, Matt asked some questions and everyone seemed to get control again. Jeremy seemed to have a good direction as director and knew when to take which shots when he needed to. Just before the commercial break, everything went smoothly except for one small mistake with the videos. Now we are treated to the 'Lorax' trailer.
After the commercial break, Matt asked Dino to answer a few more questions. Brian was looking on with anticipation. Griff was still hands on in the studio still ironing out details to achieve his vision. We now get to hear Matt's opinion on the TFC, and then it was time to wrap up with a special thanks to Dino. The credits and graphics were achieved, the record was clean, the camerawork was great, the directors did their jobs well, the audio was spot on, and Griff seemed relieved that everything went as well as it did.
Cheers
