Humber Connected: The Talk
(Originally broadcast March 1, 2011)

When I wasn't dancing to the hypnotic theme music of Anthon's production, I noticed a lot of encouraging and positive things about our crew and how far we've come. In only our third week doing these productions we've improved on the quality of our work, complexity of our shows and the overall family feel in the studio. To the untrained eyes of my classmates I was merely doing the "running man", "the carlton dance", "the jerk" and or "dougie" but as a person of intellect would really know I was observing our crew's ability to focus through distractions (in my case distractions from sex appeal ;P) as well as break the tention and nervousness that people have before the show goes to air. It's like Keasha said herself, "A party ain't a party unless summ' gets broke" and with thousands of dollars of equipment around me I definitely think breaking tention would be a wiser choice. I was assured that my plan succeeded when I heard encouraging words from my peer, Matt as he was preping the switcher, fresh off of his excellent previous hosting job. He told me "Jiggity-jiggity-jigg-jigg-jiggg Arukaderrrrrrrrrrrrrr." Words that will live in my heart forever. As far as the show went it was great, Anthon was not layed back as a producer. He was quite helpful to his director Charlotte who had an intensity in her to succeed and did so despite her soft spoken ways. Marco convinced me to get more purple in my wardrobe, Reyadh was the creeper we all know and love and Stephanie had the teacher's camera permanently attached to her face. I noticed this show had a lot of observers like me that were part of the class and I wondered why until Jim Whyte's wisdom made it all clear. He said, "observing is like swimming in water. You feel free". This enlightening imagery for some reason made me feel like going to the bathroom but that's when I noticed Anthon's show was basically almost done but they still had four minutes to fill. I was willing to jump in and fill up the air time doing well...what I do best but I realized I won't be there to save these people all the time. I decided to let them learn and handle this one on their own. Joe, the host, handled it as best as one could. He stauled very nicely and it didn't make it obvious at all what with his spelling of the humber website repeatedly and at the speed of one letter per minute and his humerous enunciation skills. Overall it was a job well done and they should all be happy with what they resulted with.
