Humber Connected: Murderers Unmade!

I scrambled around the studio, attempting to catch people in their natural working environment. Much to my dismay people felt uncomfortable with a random classmate snapping pictures of them and eerily repeating the line "I'm not even here... I'm not even here..."
"Serious, like dateline" was the tone given for Murderers Unmade, Sebastian’s gripping news like show taking on some popular true crime series like Making a Murderer, gearing towards college kids like myself. And serious it was indeed, as Chris Zabriske’s Prelude No. 14 played over an eerie BLUE.
Out steps Cody, giving an air of mystery to the already spooky tone of the show. He begins to talk deadpan about Making a Murderer.
Then comes the talk of the podcast SERIAL. Sarah Koenig. Murders. Lack of alibi’s. Was it a normal day? Who knows? Thanks a lot Jay.
A trailer for Making a Murderer comes on. The suspense and tension rises.
The eerie music returns with a vengeance. Then Stephan is brought to set in his best suit. He is serious, lawyer like. He talks about the murder cases, their aftermaths and the legal ramifications. Lots of legal jargon is tossed around. This blogger feels dumb.
I can hear the director over the mic. His voice is authoritative, and his cuts are quick. "Ready Three, Take three, ready one, take one, one minute to bumper shot". The show seems to be running smoothly.
The talk continues. Thirty seconds to bumped shot. Will they be set free? Perhaps, but it's unlikely. Stephan is excused.
A girls voice rings through the audio room. She asks students about Making a Murderer. They believe that these convicted murderers should be set free. A serial killer with the M.O. of setting people up? An FBI agent with an alibi. The film student doesn't believe that he should he behind bars.
Now Maddie talks. A film and TV student, she isn't sure how Making a Murderer gets any crazier. She too doesn't think he's guilty. She doesn't have faith in the small town justice system. She would cry a lot in prison. Poor Maddie, I don't know if you'd survive in the ol clink...
Here comes the Prelude No. 14 comes on again. Cody speaks a while. He talks about other True Crime shows and signs off.

Tension rising.

The hardest part of this show was handing over Directing duties; however, I couldn’t have asked for a better director in Spencer. We had a rehearsal that went mostly well and close to time, then we did another half rehearsal, things went better. To our surprise we actually were prepared and ready to go before air time. It was an odd sensation, but the cast and crew were calm and prepared. The show finally went live, and it went almost perfectly. Watching from the Producer’s seat as my vision was so well executed was a dream come true. Watching the timer hot 15 minutes and hearing fade to black at the same time was the cherry on top.
