Humber Connected: Fun Show!
Today's Blogger is Matthew D!
Lions ,howler monkeys, penguins and elephants oh my!
Producer Mike D invited a guest host and a small contingent of magnificent animals to this Tuesdays taping of Humber Connected to deliver a technically complex, and content filled program!
Heaps of advance preparations by the producer were apparent, from set dressing and wardrobe to well laid out audio and purpose created VTR material, Mike D had a vision and executed it with confidence.
Before taping Mike D was calmly involved in setting the show up for success. Arriving early and leaving nothing to chance he purposefully tweaked minute details until the moment at which he coolly relinquished control to his Director Griff. During rehearsal and before taping Mike provided clarification to the camera operators and made a couple fine adjustment to props and the talents blocking which tightened framing and brought the show nearer to the audience.
A parade of stuffed animals coupled with Matt G and Stephanie G’s cute animal impressions elevated the mood on a cool afternoon setting the tone for what Director Griff described as a, “happy, uppity show”.
Part of Mikes plan in presenting a show aimed at 5,6,7 year olds was to not let onto the secrets of the set. Understanding the importance of a fully believable and immersive imaginary environment Griff instructed the crew to “protect the magic”. Crew and Cast did phenomenal work in delivering an imaginative show with great tone and high production value.
Mike brought a great show to studio and produced it with passion and belief in his content that easily transferred to the Griff and from there the entire crew and cast.
On this day, the class pulled off a bit of TV magic and raised the bar to a new height.
