Pre-Production
Today our fabulous crew worked exceptionally on a live news show called Metro News that was produced by Shirley Fullerton and Directed by Rochelle Chambers. Shirley seemed well prepared with a well thought out script which really helped the pre-production to be a little easier. There were a couple problems such as all the videos on green wouldn't play and they a little problems setting up the green screen. For the most part though things ran smoothly as Rochelle has it all under control. She had four different cast members for her show which were all excited about the experience to be apart of Metro News. "I can scarcely contain myself", said one of the cast members Scott Reynolds. Travis Blackwell who was the floor manager for the production was the leader inside the studio, doing a terrific job on preparing the talent and hitting cues. Rochelle got through a full run through with some mistakes but she was able to fix them for the actual production. Everybody then went into the studio for a group picture as the on air time was creeping up fast. Our director Rochelle seemed very jittery minutes before and had this to say, "Really nervous, but let's do it! BRTV!".
Production
Shirley really put a ton of thought into her production because Metro news had everything from entertainment, news, weather and even sports. I think it was a lot more interesting with the 4 cast , as it just made sense how she did it. Even though it was a well thought show, it did seem to be a little overwhelming for most of the crew members. There just seemed to be a lot of tension in the studio as many times people didn't know what they were doing as things seemed to be complicated. I just feel if this show was done in a few months rather than right now, it would have been way more successful as the crew members would have gained a ton more experience. But with all that the show went well and we had fun. I asked a couple of the crew members on how they thought the production went.
Post-Production Quotes
Toni Junkin (Camera Operator): "There is nothing to be said about what just went down in here. (The studio) We were not ready for that much of a challenge."
Shirley Fullerton (Producer): "The show went really great! I'm proud of Rochelle's directing! I made a complicated show and she totally owned it!"
Rochelle Chambers (Director): "The complexity of the show turned out to be great and I'm extremely proud of my crew and our work. Big ups to our hosts and camera crew."
Josh Gordon (On Air Talent): "Had so much fun! Me and Scott ran show!
No pun intended. Can't wait to see it. Stay frosty. :)"
