Humber Connected: The DSLR Fim Maker Show
(Originally broadcast March 1, 2011)
Today's House Blogger was Richard Donalds
The atmosphere in the studio this morning was rather calm on the surface. Seems we’ve all pretty much got the hang of things now. I’d say that today’s show was very well thought out, well put together, and turned out to be pretty interesting content-wise.
Craig (the show’s producer) was all over the place but seemed to have everything under control. I asked how it was going and he could only say “Great!” with a smile before he had to dart off. Scott (the host) did a great job of tweaking the 7 page script and making it his own on the fly.
I asked Scott if he was nervous at all having upwards of $4500 worth of equipment laid out in front of him, but the amount of reading, writing, and talking he had to get done had him more worried. Personally, I’d be afraid to accidentally knock something off the desk - that’s BRTV tuition and a bag of chips in collateral right there. An extremely expensive bag of chips that has like.. An external hard drive as a prize.
The dry run was practically flawless; one graphic was missed, no biggie. The recorded show was ending about a minute and a half early with nothing to show on air besides the Humber College copyright slate.
With some quick thinking, the team in the control room decided to fill the remaining time with shots of the DSLRs - a nice touch in my opinion. The crew ended up nailing the show and the control room had a laugh at the fact that the copyright is really going to get across to the audience.
